For over a century, All Newton Music School has been a home for ambitious young musicians. In this spirit, we are excited to invite you to explore the ANMS Emerging Artists Program. This initiative is tailor-made for our dedicated school-aged students who are excited to push the boundaries of their musical capabilities.
Speak with your instructor to learn more and to join the program. EAP Applications are available at the Front Desk Beginning November 6th. Please return completed applications to the Front Desk by December 21st, 2023.
Your Journey, Your Tiers
Prelude Tier I, II, III - Every great story has a beginning! For our budding pianists and our youngest string players, this is where your journey begins. Under the guidance of your instructor, you'll lay down the fundamental notes of your musical journey, setting the stage for the melodies and rhythms ahead.
Sonata Tier I, II - As you find your footing, your unique musical voice starts to emerge. Here, you'll dive deeper into technique, explore diverse pieces, and begin to express yourself in ways you've never imagined! Together, we'll nurture that voice and let it soar.
Concerto Tier I, II - You're not just playing, you're resonating. With a focus on advanced technique and compositions, you’ll refine your artistry, shine brighter, and prepare to perform for audiences, large or small.
Symphony Tier I, II, III - This is the crescendo, where commitment meets mastery. For upper-high school students driven to reach the height of their musical potential, this tier is a testament to your dedication, passion, and the pure joy of musical expression.
Pillars of Excellence
Mastery of Technique: Each tier presents its own set of technical challenges: from scales to arpeggios to intricate etudes, students will be continuously challenged and inspired.
Repertoire Expansion: Explore various works from introductory compositions to full-fledged sonatas and concertos, art songs, and more! Each program tier offers pieces that aim to challenge and motivate.
ANMS Listening Masterclasses: Elevate your listening abilities with the help of faculty member, cellist Sara Wikins. Before select concerts, dive into the nuances of compositions, learn the art of critical listening, and deepen your understanding of musical narratives.
Concert Engagements: Immerse yourself in the live music experience by attending at least two ANMS concerts each year. Emerging Artists receive 2 complimentary tickets to ANMS concerts. For our advanced students in the Symphony tier, you will write your reflections, inspirations, and thoughts from one of the ANMS concerts and submit them to the EAP coordinator.
Student Recitals and Music in May: Stand under the spotlight during weekly recitals and the annual Spring recital festival, showcasing your growth, dedication, and achievements to our supportive ANMS community. Pianist Rita Moerschel will provide written feedback to EAP students after performing in any weekly recital.
